Margarita Dunham

Member at Large

Margarita Durham has been a devoted member of Holy Apostles for six years, having come to the parish while seeking a change from her previous Orthodox community. She and her husband Patrick are blessed with two sons, John and Matthew, who have grown up within the Holy Apostles family. Her patron saint is St. Demetrios, and she finds deep inspiration in the woman from the Gospels who suffered from an issue of blood for twelve years as a powerful testament to unwavering faith and the transformative power of encountering Christ.

Margarita's first experience at Holy Apostles set the tone for her love of this community. At her very first coffee hour, Presbytera Pat warmly welcomed her family, engaging them in meaningful conversation and introducing them to many parishioners, helping them feel immediately connected. This welcoming spirit continues to be what Margarita treasures most about the parish: the genuine warmth of the congregation and the beautiful sound of the entire community singing together during services, with one collective voice glorifying God.

Pascha holds special significance for Margarita as her favorite feast day, and the hymn "Christ is Risen" fills her heart with joy and hope every time she hears it. In addition to her dedicated leadership on Parish Council, she has served the parish by singing in the choir and helping prepare food and clean up after coffee hour.

What excites Margarita most about Holy Apostles' future is the opportunity to continue and deepen the sense of connection and fellowship within the parish community. While she recognizes the exciting potential that a new building offers for growth, her hope as a leader is to nurture and strengthen the bonds of community regardless of the physical space in which we gather, ensuring that the warmth and love that drew her family to Holy Apostles continues to welcome others home.
