The Akathist Hymn is a profound devotional poem to the Mother of God, divided into four parts and sung on the first four Fridays of Lent. The entire Akathist is then sung on the fifth Friday. This beautiful service helps us appreciate the role of the Theotokos in God's plan for our salvation and seek her intercessionary prayers during our Lenten journey.
