Festal Divine Liturgy: Presentation of the Lord: 9:30 – 11:00am

Today the Orthodox Church commemorates the Presentation of Christ in the Temple. Following the Law of Moses, the Theotokos and Joseph brought the infant Jesus to the Temple forty days after His birth. There they were met by the righteous elder Simeon and the prophetess Anna, who recognized the child as the Messiah. This feast marks the meeting of the Old and New Covenants, as Simeon proclaimed Christ as the awaited Messiah, saying, "Lord, now let Your servant go in peace according to Your promise, because my eyes have seen Your salvation which you have prepared before the face of all peoples, a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory to your people Israel".
