Earl Bardin
Member at Large
Earl Bardin has been a faithful member of Holy Apostles since the early days when the parish was hosted at Church of the Holy Redeemer, and has witnessed the parish's journey alongside Fathers Michael and Tom to its current home and upcoming remodel. Earl's path to Orthodoxy began in college where he met his cradle Orthodox wife Barbara, leading to his eventual conversion and a blessed marriage of nearly 50 years. Earl and Barb have three daughters and have watched their family mature while remaining deeply rooted in the Holy Apostles community.
Now both retired, Earl pursued a rewarding career as a doctor, while Barbara worked in Speech Pathology in the Mukilteo school district. They both now feel blessed to contribute their time and energy to their church community. They both actively contribute to church events and leadership. Barbara served faithfully on the parish council for years, while Earl currently brings his sense of perspective, history, and constancy to the council's work. Earl is particularly instrumental in ensuring the parish building is cared for and maintained.
Throughout their decades at Holy Apostles, Earl and Barbara have witnessed members come and go, some passing on to eternal rest, but Father Tom has remained their constant shepherd, developing their souls and deepening their appreciation and understanding of the Orthodox faith. Earl finds particular joy in seeing young families committed to Holy Apostles, contributing to the perpetuation of their church community.
Earl is looking forward to the upcoming remodel, and knows it will require resolve, work, and dedication from the entire community. He believes that the collaboration between the diverse members of the congregation—drawing strength from both the wisdom of long-time members and the energy of newer families—will guarantee the parish's continued success.
