Earl Bardin
Member at Large
Earl Bardin has been a faithful member of Holy Apostles since the early days at the Church of the Holy Redeemer, witnessing the parish's journey alongside Fathers Michael and Tom to their current home. His path to Orthodoxy began in college where he met his cradle Orthodox wife Barbara, leading to his eventual conversion and a blessed marriage that celebrates 50 years next year. Together, they raised three daughters and have watched their family mature while remaining deeply rooted in the Holy Apostles community.
During his medical training and residency years, Barbara worked in Speech Pathology in the Mukilteo school district, supporting both their family and Earl's demanding career in medicine. Now retired, both Earl and Barbara feel blessed to contribute their time and energy to their church and community. Barbara served faithfully on the parish council for years, while Earl currently brings his sense of perspective, history, and consistency to the council's work.
Throughout their decades at Holy Apostles, Earl and Barbara have witnessed members come and go, some passing on to eternal rest, but Father Tom has remained their constant shepherd, developing their souls and deepening their appreciation and understanding of the Orthodox faith.
They actively contribute to church events, maintenance, and leadership, understanding that the upcoming remodel will require resolve, work, and dedication from the entire community. Earl finds particular joy in seeing young families committed to Holy Apostles, contributing to the perpetuation of their church community. He believes that the collaboration between the diverse members of our congregation, with the experience of long-time members and the energy of newer families growing their faith together, will guarantee the parish's continued strength.
