Scenes from The Ecclesiastical New Year

Sunday, August 30, 2026 and Tuesday, September 1, 2026 — On the last Sunday of the ecclesiastical year, our outgoing and incoming Presiding Priests served Divine Liturgy side by side, marking a peace-filled, beautiful handover. August 30 was the Apodosis of the Feast of the Beheading of St. John the Forerunner, and Fr. Tom and Fr. Rob were concelebrants, both vested in the deep red worn in honor of martyrs and the Cross.

The following Tuesday, September 1, was the Ecclesiastical New Year and marked the official start of Fr. Rob's tenure as the new Presiding Priest of Holy Apostles. After twenty-three years in that role, Fr. Tom stepped into retirement with the same heart-anchored humility that has characterized his pastorate and his whole life of ministry. He chose not to vest, wearing a simple priest's cassock as he supported Fr. Rob at his first Liturgy as our new priest.

What a joy it is for our parish to celebrate Fr. Tom's life of pastoral care and love in Christ, and to welcome Fr. Rob. Axios!
